Overview

The JW-80 pipe rolling machine is a full-mechanical roller for carbon steel pipe up to Φ80 × 2 mm. It rolls circles, arcs and spirals down to a minimum radius of Φ800 mm — the large-radius work a rotary draw bender cannot reach, because a draw bender is built around a fixed former and a tight radius.

The JW-80 sits in the middle of the rolling range, and it is where the drive gets serious. Motor power steps from 5.5 kW on the JW-60 to 11 kW here, and machine weight from 1500 kg to 3000 kg. That mass is not incidental: a rolling head resists springback continuously along the whole length of the pipe, not just at one bend point.

Minimum radius matters more than diameter

Every model in the JW range is rated at 10D or above, so the minimum radius scales with the pipe — Φ800 mm on this machine. If the radius your part needs is tighter than ten times the pipe diameter, rolling is the wrong process and the job belongs on a mandrel bender. If it is looser, rolling gives you smoother stress distribution and no die marks, because the pipe is formed gradually over repeated passes instead of being pulled around a single former in one hit.

Tooling and materials

Roller grooves are matched to your section: round pipe, square tube, angle, flat bar and profiles each need their own groove. Carbon steel is the reference material for the rated capacity; stainless, aluminium and other sections run with matched grooves and adjusted passes.

Typical work: handrail and balustrade, tank and vessel rings, spiral coils for heat exchange, curved structural members, and furniture frames that need a long sweep rather than a corner.

FAQ

Pipe Rolling Machine JW-80 — Common Questions

A bender pulls the tube around a fixed former to make one tight bend at one point. A rolling machine feeds the pipe through driven rollers and forms it gradually over repeated passes, producing large-radius circles, arcs and spirals with smoother stress distribution and no die marks.

Φ800 mm, which is the 10D rule the whole JW range works to — ten times the pipe diameter. If your radius is tighter than that, rolling is the wrong process and the part belongs on a mandrel bender.

Carbon steel pipe up to Φ80 × 2 mm, driven by an 11 kW motor at 8 m/min, with a Φ220 mm mould diameter. Machine weight is 3000 kg.

Yes, with matched roller grooves. Round pipe, square tube, angle, flat bar and profiles each need their own groove profile — the groove is what supports the section and stops it collapsing or twisting as it feeds.

Rolling is iterative by nature: you set the roller distance, run a pass, measure and adjust. Because the pipe is formed progressively rather than in one hit, springback is corrected across passes rather than predicted up front, which is part of why rolling suits one-off and small-batch curves.
