Pipe Rolling Machine

Pipe Rolling Machine JW-120

Full-mechanical pipe rolling machine taking carbon steel pipe up to Φ120 × 8 mm — the wall thickness is what separates it from the JW-80, not just the diameter. Minimum radius Φ960 mm at 8 m/min, Φ300 mm mold and a 22 kW drive on a 6000 kg frame. Rolls round pipe, angle, flat bar and profiles with matched grooves.

Overview

The JW-120 pipe rolling machine is a full-mechanical unit taking carbon steel pipe up to Φ120 × 8 mm, with a minimum rolling radius of Φ960 mm at the same 10D rule the whole JW range works to.

What separates it from the JW-80 is not really the diameter — it is the wall. Eight millimetres against two. Wall thickness is what sets rolling force, which is why the drive steps up to 22 kW and the frame to 6000 kg while the rolling speed stays at 8 m/min.

Quote the wall before the diameter

Two machines rated for the same outside diameter can behave completely differently on thick wall. A thin-wall Φ120 tube rolls easily and mostly risks flattening; a Φ120 × 8 mm pipe carries far more section modulus and will not move at all without the torque to drive it. When you size a rolling machine, the wall thickness is the number that decides the answer, and the diameter is second.

Rolling speed is 8 m/min here, identical to the JW-80 and JW-100. Speed in this process is set by how fast the metal can be worked without cracking, not by how big the machine is.

Tooling and materials

Roller grooves are cut to your section — round pipe, square tube, angle, flat bar and profiles. Carbon steel is the reference material for the rated capacity; other materials run with matched grooves and adjusted passes.

Typical work: heavy handrail and structural curves, pressure vessel and tank rings, large-diameter spiral coils, and pipe spool components that call for a long sweeping radius instead of a welded elbow.

FAQ

Pipe Rolling Machine JW-120 — Common Questions

The wall, more than the diameter. The JW-80 is rated Φ80 × 2 mm and the JW-120 Φ120 × 8 mm. Wall thickness is what sets rolling force, which is why the drive steps from 11 kW to 22 kW and the frame from 3000 kg to 6000 kg.

Because two machines rated for the same outside diameter can behave completely differently on thick wall. A thin-wall Φ120 tube rolls easily and mostly risks flattening; a Φ120 × 8 mm pipe carries far more section modulus and will not move without the torque to drive it.

Φ960 mm, again at the 10D rule. Maximum radius is effectively unlimited — a very large radius simply means less roller offset and more passes.

8 m/min on both, and on the JW-100 as well. Speed in rolling is set by how fast the metal can be worked without cracking, not by the size of the machine. A bigger machine gives you more force, not more speed.

Heavy handrail and structural curves, pressure vessel and tank rings, large-diameter spiral coils, and pipe spool components that need a long sweeping radius instead of a welded elbow.
